Export obfuscator

If you need to share a chat export as a sample for testing or debugging, you may want to obfuscate it to protect any personal information such as message contents, IDs, author information and URLs. This tool will do that for you.

Export files

The process will build a new export from scratch, instead of modifying the existing file; this is to avoid leaking new fields we are not aware of.
All the obfuscator code is contained in this HTML file, feel free to audit it.

What will happen with your data:

Message content will be obfuscated. The tool will generate Lorem Ipsum sentences the same length as the original message.
All names will be obfuscated. The tool will generate random names for guilds and channels, as well as nicknames/names for authors.
(as of now) Timestamps are preserved as is.
Guilds, Channels, Authors, and all other forms of IDs are obfuscated. For each kind of entity, we create a new sequential id.
References between guilds, channels and authors is preserved. This means that messages sent by the same author, or in the same channel or guild, will reference to the same obfuscated author/channel/guild.
Media, stickers, reactions, and attachments will be preserved but obfuscated. The tool will generate the same kind of media in the same quantity, but with random content (different emojis for reactions, or random URLs for attachments)
A lot of data is being lost that could be preserved obfuscated. We will add them here when we have the need to debug those things.
